If you’ve been searching for a cure for bad breath, you’ve probably tried everything you can get your hands on. You may have even altered your diet, assuming that the food churning in your stomach might be what’s causing the bad breath. You’ve seen advertisements for natural breath fresheners, and wonder what could be in them that would make them more effective than traditional breath fresheners. Here are some of the things you might find in natural breath fresheners.

1.	Chlorophyll – Chlorophyll is what gives plants their green color. It is often used as an ingredient in natural breath fresheners because it deodorizes the mouth and throat. It also helps make the digestive tract healthier, which can help you if your bad breath is coming from your diet.

2.	Parsley – Parsley is also known for eliminating bad breath odors. Did you know that is why parsley is often served as a garnish on your dinner plate in restaurants? Chewing the parsley at the end of your meal can help prevent bad breath.

3.	Acidic fruits – Lemons, pineapples and apples are all said to be effective for reducing bad breath because of their bacteria fighting acid.

4.	Mint oils – Mint oils, particularly those from spearmint and peppermint are likely the most effective natural breath fresheners. Why? Because they are the most concentrated form of mint, which is the best remedy for killing bacteria in the mouth.

Did you know that the number one cause of bad breath is bacteria? And, did you know that this same bacterium that’s causing the foul odor is also causing plaque to build up on your teeth? That’s why the best alternative for getting rid of the bad breath is to kill the bacteria. Regular use of a natural breath freshener containing mint will get your mouth clean and bacteria free. Not only will you feel far more confident about talking to people, but your dentist is likely to report your mouth to be far healthier at your next checkup.

So, chew your parsley after dinner or suck on a lemon for a quick fix if you’re concerned about the effects of that onion you ate. But for a real long term improvement in the freshness of your breath, find a natural breath freshener made from mint oils. You (and your friends) will be glad you did.

By knowing these reasons one can start taking precaution before reaching such dire state. Reasons for having heart diseasemay be very common but the repercussions of the same are very bad for your health.

Age can be a major factor for you to suffer from heart disease. If statistics is anything to go by then it has come to notice that more than 83% of people who suffer fromheart disease or any ailments relating to heart is either 65 or older. Being of male gender also causes heart problems as they are prone to die of heart attack in an early age. After menopause the women chances of having heart attacks increases but this is not the same with men.

Heredity plays a very important in determining your chances of having a heart problem. Children's whose parents suffer from heart disease is more likely to be affected by this disease if proper care is not taken. The different races that are around this world among them African American suffers the most due to high blood pressure than Caucasians with higher risk of heart disease. As obesity also causes heart disease, major Americans suffer from it which causes the problem.

Smoking is not good for your health as it causes problems which can lead in a cardiac arrest. Passive smoking is also unhealthy as you are inhaling the fumes from the cigarette which are root cause of the problem. Cholesterol is also an important culprit in causing heart diseases as it gets affected with age, sex, heredity and your diet too.

Blood pressure and lack of physical activity also causes problems. High blood pressure leads to over loading of work to the heart which leads to thickening of heart and chance for stroke, heart attack and heart failure is expected. Stress, diabetes, alcohol are all part in causing the heart problems to you.

Taking juices may be compared to eating a balanced diet. No one would contemplate trying to live on one single foodstuff. In the same way, mostJuices tend to work better in combination than alone. The values of one will complement the deficiencies of another.

The very best raw materials should always be used. There is nothing to beat freshly gathered produce from your own organically cultivated garden. But for many crops and for most people, that is not possible. The next best is to buy good looking, fresh fruit and vegetables from the local supplier. Take care to always wash bought produce with clean, flowing water in case there is any contamination.

As soon as a plant is picked, the nutrient value begins to diminish. Canning and bottling both involve cooking which further reduces the vitamin and mineral content some of which also leaks out into water (that is why you should always try to cook with as little water as possible and to use any left over as a basis for soup, gravy or sauce). Drying foods will of course make them impossible to juice as well as reducing the nutrients.

The only answer is to store high quality materials in a deep freeze. Although there is still a loss, it is not as serious as in other methods of conservation. You may also freeze the actual juice.

How much juice should you take? Some are powerful, and are usually taken in combination with the basics such as carrot juice. Less than pint a day is unlikely to be effective. So the rule to adopt is: FROM ONE TO EIGHT PINTS OF JUICE A DAY, BUT NEVER MORE THAN IS COMFORTABLE.

It is not always true to say that the more juice the quicker the result, but there is certainly not much benefit to be derived from consuming juice in too small an amount or for a period of less than a month. An experienced practitioner can achieve his results with more or lessjuices than are recommended here, but he has the benefit of contact with the patient.

Your eyes are said to be the window of your soul. The way you perceive the entire world is heavily dependent on your eyes. (...)

Your eyes are said to be the window of your soul. The way you perceive the entire world is heavily dependent on your eyes. So not having good eye health means more than not being able to read signs; it means you could be greatly misperceiving the world around you.

That is the reality of eye health neglect. Our eyes bring so much to our lives. They are used to work with and to see the world around us.

Natural eye health is the proactive way of taking care of your eyes. Working on computer screens can strain your eyes, making them red and painful.

Natural eyes care teaches you the best way to take care of your eyes, which starts with your rebuilding and maintaining all the membranes in your eyes.

It is important to understand that proper and effective eye care starts inside. While a carrot can help, it alone cannot mend all the damage that your eyes sustain on a daily basis.

And natural eye health methods will educate you on the type of foods you can consume so that your eyes do not sustain consistent cellular damage every day. It is sad to think that our eyes work so hard for us, yet we do so little to take care of them.

We just expect them to do everything, yet we selfishly neglect them. If you want your eyes to stay strong in the future, then you need to do the work now. There is no better time to start learning about natural eye health.

That way you will find the methods that will help you keep your eyes healthy before they begin to deteriorate. Have you ever wondered what life would be like if you didn't have your eyes? Think about it. It is a small investment to make for something that does so much for you.

Enjoy and take pride in the fact that you live a naturally healthy lifestyle and that you know that you are taking care of all your body's assets.

(...)

Author: Rikey Ponting

Many women’s lifestyle magazines frustrate us by providing exercise regimens for work and then adding: “You can do this exercise in your office!” What about those of us who work in a cube or other small space (with no floor space for Pilates-style stretches) that’s not very private (do you really want your boss to wander by right when you’re doing jumping jacks?). Even if you are cube-confined, you can maintain your health in a cube.
Make A "Health" Drawer
Your filing spaces are your friends. Most cubes have lots of little drawers. Make one of them a “health” drawer. Add a ziplock bag or two with healthy non-perishable snacks in it (maybe dried veggies), a few bags of herbal, non-caffeinated tea (switch over from coffee midday to help you sleep better at night), and a travel-size hand-sanitizing gel for use regularly when there’s a cold going around the office (did you know most colds are transmitted through shared objects like doorknobs?). A decorative canvas bag can store an extra pair of athletic shoes in case you can take a 10 minute walk or stretch break over lunch.
Get Blood Back To Your Brain:
Pop goes the weasel. When you sit in a cube in front of a computer or on the phone for hours at a time, gravity pulls your blood towards your feet. It pools in your feet, ankles, and fanny; if you’re ever noticed your feet looking puffy towards the end of the day, the puffiness may be a side-effect of having blood spending so much time down there! Our arm and leg muscles function as “pumps” to get blood back to the heart.
While you could just do jumping jacks to get the blood flowing back upwards, there are less noticeable ways to get blood moving: If you’ve got a shelf in your high in your cube, keep daily useables (paperclips, stapler) there; getting up regularly will remind you to stretch. While standing lift your legs up at the knee, one at a time, to help get blood flowing. One enterprising woman kept a postcard pinned up towards the very top of her cube wall – and kept an ever-growing collection of postcards that she exchanged every day in the afternoon. The new postcard each day perked her up, and it gave her a reminder to get up and stretch several times a day.
Muscular injury is common in the desk-job world. The Center for Disease Control reports that 92,576 injuries resulted from repetitive motion, including typing or key entry. Make sure to take breaks from the keyboard at least once an hour. Use a wrist support at your computer when you are typing or browsing, Your forearm, wrist, and hand should be on a level, not making a V. The Harvard RSI action group suggests some exercises to help prevent repetitive stress injuries (http://www.rsi.deas.harvard.edu/). If you spend a lot of time on the phone and can’t use a speaker phone, don’t hold the phone by crunching your shoulder against your ear. Instead, invest in or ask for a headset or shoulder support for your receiver.
Drink Plenty Of Water:
Drinking water is very important. It can help you recover from a cold more quickly (though it doesn’t “cure” it), replenish lost fluids after exercise, and assist in weight loss (many people think they are hungry when they are actually thirsty, so make sure to take a drink before diving for the candy machine). Keep a four-cup bottle or thermos near the computer and replenish daily. Don’t overdo though – excess water can dilute important minerals and vitamins in your blood stream.
Make Sure To Take Your Vitamins & Other Pills:
Pill reminders. Do you need regularly forget to take vitamins because you’re busy? Find an attractive, desk-top container to put the bottle in – a decorative flower pot is one option. Something attractive and eye catching will remind you it’s there. This can also work for daily medications, but keep in mind that some medications can be toxic to others or have street-value (many prescribed pain killers), so these are medications that should stay with you, rather than your desk.

    * Have the child's vision checked to ensure that the child can see clearly and comfortably, and to detect any hidden conditions that may contribute to eye-strain. When necessary, glasses, contact lenses, or vision therapy can provide clear, comfortable vision, not just for using the computer, but for all other aspects of daily activities.
    * Strictly enforce the amount of time that a child can continuously use the computer. A 10-minute break every hour will minimize the development of focusing problems and eye irritation caused by improper blinking. Also consider shorter, more frequent breaks.
    * Reduce the amount of lighting in the room to match the computer screen. Often this can be simply done in the home. In some cases, a smaller light can be substituted for the bright overhead light, or a dimmer-switch can be installed to give flexible control of room lighting. In other cases, a three-way bulb can be turned to its lowest setting.

    * Carefully check the height and arrangement of the monitor. The child's size should determine how the monitor and keyboard are positioned. In many situations, the computer monitor will be too high in the child's field of view, the chair too low, and the desk too high. A good solution to many of these problems is an adjustable chair that can be raised for the child's comfort, since it is usually difficult to lower the computer monitor. A footstool may be necessary to support the child's feet.
    * Carefully check the lighting for glare on the computer screen. Windows or other light sources should not be directly visible when sitting in front of the monitor. When this occurs, the desk or computer should be turned to prevent glare on the screen. Draw curtains or blinds to reduce window lighting. Sometimes glare is less obvious. Holding a small mirror flat against the screen can be a useful way to look for light sources that are reflecting off of the screen from above or behind. If a light source can be seen in the mirror, the offending light should be moved or blocked from hitting the screen with a cardboard hood (a baffle) attached to the top of the monitor. In addition, the American Optometric Association has evaluated and accepted a number of glare screens that can be added to a monitor to reduce glare. Look for the AOA Seal of Acceptance when purchasing a glare-reduction filter.

Children have different needs to comfortably use a computer. A small amount of effort can help reinforce appropriate viewing habits and assure comfortable and enjoyable computer use.

What is the most important thing about schools and the education system? (...)

Author: Mark Burdett

What is the most important thing about schools and the education system? There are likely to be many different answers to this question depending on whether you are a parent, a teacher, a school governor or indeed a pupil.

There is one thing that virtually everyone will agree on though and that is making sure our schools and nurseries are safe environments. So with safety perhaps the major issue with modern schools what steps can schools take to make sure their school is as safe as possible?

Here are just 5 ways in which schools can use new technology to make sure their staff, pupils and the school is as safe as possible:

CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television)

With over 4.2 million CCTV cameras in the UK alone (one for every 14 people) this method of security is now common place. CCTV is used for a wide variety of things but for schools the use of CCTV allows for the monitoring of property and people. There has been much debate over the effectiveness of CCTV as a means of crime prevention but capturing criminal or anti-social behaviour both inside and outside of schools can certainly lead to action being taken against the culprits and also hopefully reduce the likelihood of it even happening in the first place.

Security Lighting

As the dark winter nights are now upon us and with children and teachers often starting and ending school in darkness (or dusk) then having adequate lighting is very popular. Security lighting can act in 2 ways. Firstly it gives pupils and employees more confidence by providing a well lit and seemingly safe environment. Not only that security lighting may also deter would be criminals and trouble makers.

Intruder Alarms

You are lying in bed fast asleep having a wonderful dream when BANG, a car alarm goes off and interrupts your peaceful sleep. And stays on for what seems like an eternity. It finally gets turned off and you cannot get back to sleep! Sound familiar?

Is so you will know what impact an intruder alarm can have. For schools this is important as depending on the type of alarm you have it can alert other teachers, school workers, school children and/or the Police.

The result hopefully being that whatever caused the alarm to be activated, stops. And you, your school and your staff and pupils are safe.

Access Control Panels

These can be used by schools to prevent access to the building or to specific areas within the school. They can be used to make staff feel safer and to prevent unwanted visitors to certain areas.

Two Way Radio

The mobile phone has meant it is easier than ever to stay in touch but mobile phones suffer from cost issues and lack of coverage which means they aren't used by schools. The good news for schools is that modern Two Way Radio allows employees (from teachers to ground staff) to stay in touch wherever they are for just the cost of the actual handset. No ongoing costs and a fast and highly effective way to stay in touch both within the school and on field trips make Two Way Radio a must for any school with a focus on security and safety.

Make sure your School, your staff and your pupils are secure and safe and make sure modern technology works for you.

Some people are addicted to gambling, or drinking. I am addicted to music. My most important thing is my mp3 player, and I never leave home without it. Not even when going jogging, or to the market. I feel like something's missing if I don't have it with me. Even though it's gotten quite old, I don't feel the need for a newer one.

Someone up there certainly doesn't like me, and decided to play a small joke on me, by making my headphone cable get tangled up in something. I didn't notice and one sudded movement caused my mp3 player to go flying out of my pocket, waving goodbye as it did so.

The large number of pieces that went flying when my mp3 player hit the ground made me realize I was going to need a new one, now. The electronics isle, although packed with a large number of players, had me really confused. The different characteristics of the players displayed looked nice, but I didn't know what to choose.

The zen v plus 2 gb that was on sale looked interesting and my wallet liked it too. Things on sale are usually good, or at least that's what I think. When I heard from the lady at the cash register how quickly they've been selling, I was even more happy with my purchase. I liked its color and overall looks, and the visual improvement over my old mp3 player was obvious.

My decision seems even better now, after some time has passed and I've become more used to the player. It has so many things that my previous player didn't have, that I wonder how I've lived without them for so long. The sound quality is also far superior to my older player, and I can't even begin to compare them, when it comes to design. Another one of my great choices!
